Go Green

As part of our continuing efforts towards becoming a more eco-friendly company we have developed a more environmentally responsible mode for disposing of roofing shingles. The process of recycling shingles into asphalt products is one of many of our latest effort to "go green." We have dedicated a great deal of time and energy to shingle recycling and beneficial reuse. Therefore, we would like to share both the visual and textual explanation of its utility.

At the company's large waste transfer station near Chicago, inbound loads of roofing shingles are disposed in a discreet area. After this, the gross debris is removed and the material is processed through the construction and demolition waste segregation machinery.
Materials free from contaminants, such as wood, plastic nails, and other metals are stockpiled.
Materials are then transported to an asphalt plant for further processing.
Finally, materials are stockpiled for addition to an asphalt paving application or a road sub-base.
Despite our high regard for this process of recycling shingles we will continue testing and development for other product uses throughout metropolitan Chicago.
